What is EFT?
The process of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a gentle and safe method that obtains relief fast and efficiently from many types of discomfort. Many of my clients report that it works much faster in relieving symptoms than other techniques they have experienced in the past.
EFT is based on Einstein’s equation, E=MC2. Basically, the equation means that energy and matter are different forms of the same thing. Everything in our world is made up of energy, the chair you are sitting in, the desk, the wall, even your body.
Let’s look at Western Medicine to prove that the body consists of energy pathways.
You may recognize this medical test ‘ EEG.
An EEG is a test that detects abnormalities in the electrical activity in the brain.
How about this term ‘ EKG?
An EKG or ECG is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat.
Your body consist of energy current pathways that when connect properly your physical, mental, and emotion states are humming along in perfect harmony. You day is going well; you feel energized, excited about the opportunities, you are on top of the day.
However, in today’s society with the daily stress both external (family, work) and internal emotional contributors (negative self talk, lack of faith in self), not to mention all the rushing, the should’s, the and need to’s, our energy pathways become blocked or disconnected. A few of the indicators that your pathways may be blocked are physical aches and pains or emotional discomfort of tension, feelings of edginess, or anxiety.
About 5000 years ago, the Chinese among other culture discovered that the energy pathways have beginning point and end point on the body, called meridians. One of the methods that is still applied today using the meridians that you may recognize is acupuncture.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also called tapping, is an easy to learn method of gently tapping on points on the body with your fingertips that are on or near the energy meridians. It is also referred as ‘emotional acupuncture’ with out the needles.
An example of these beginning and end points of the meridians are similar to flipping the light switch to a light fixture. The switch is the beginning point connecting the light bulb the end point creating an energy pathway. When you flip the switch and the light shines brightly the pathway is connected properly. If you flip on the switch and the light does not shine, the energy pathway to the light bulb is disconnected.
The same happens in our body. We cannot see this energy move, however, just like the light bulb, a disruption or ‘break’ in our body’s electrical circuitry causes our light to become dim or dark.
This dimming of our light may indicate emotional discomfort and/or physical pain in the body. These disturbances are caused by negative perceptions or beliefs created by our thoughts and/or experiences. Tapping reconnects the pathways allowing you to shine brightly.
The EFT process successfully produces results among many types of people with various degrees of emotional or physical discomfort. As well as, changing unwanted habits, eliminating fear, crushing cravings (Smoking, Food, Alcohol, and Drugs), and performance issues (Athletic, Professional, Personal).
